What Are Branched Chain Amino Acids?
When thinking of what to consume to build muscle tissue, it is clear that protein is the top dog. However, it is what is in the protein that is even more important. Protein is largely formed of Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs), which are the active natural building blocks that our body works internally, to grow and repair muscle. For this reason, BCAA supplements, much like whey protein supplements, for example, are incredibly popular among both athletes, and the footloose consumer looking to hone and craft their physique in the gym. The effects of BCAA supplements are profoundly positive for those looking to make gains in muscle size, strength and definition, as such supplements aim to complement your diet and exercise routines.
Why Take BCAA + Glutamine
There are 20 individual Amino Acids that we know of, and 8 of them are called essential Amino Acids, meaning that our body cannot synthesise them naturally. This makes consuming BCAA very important in the interest of muscle gaining, where we would otherwise be unable to obtain such building blocks. BCAA + Glutamine contains Amino Acids Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine, which are known to be the three most promising Essential Amino Acids for the purpose of building muscle following exercise. Furthermore, both Leucine and Isoleucine are often taken as a way of managing cravings for people who want to manage their weight. Such properties make this supplement appealing for both someone looking to gain muscle, and someone looking to manage their body weight. BCAA + Glutamine also packs in a hearty serving of Glutamine, the most abundant Amino Acid in terms of bioavailability in the body. This conditionally essential Amino Acid is also alive with muscle building qualities, which is why Glutamine supplements are a personal favourite among bodybuilders.

How To Carry Out Branched Chain Amino Acid Supplementation
To take BCAA + Glutamine, simply mix one scoop of the powder into water, juice, or as part of a smoothie or protein shake. Stir thoroughly to ensure that the powder completely dissolves before consuming otherwise you may taste bits, or there may be unmixed powder stuck to the side of the drinking vessel. You can drink the solution before, during or after a workout, but relatively speaking it is preferred to do so following a workout as that is when the muscle fibres have torn and have a more urgent need of nourishment. When consuming before a workout, consume within half an hour of commencement to avoid bloating or lethargy. Equally, when supplementing post workout, consume within 3 hours for optimal effect.
What To Remember When Taking BCAA + Glutamine
There are also certain considerations to make when supplementing with BCAA + Glutamine. This product contains no known side-effects but cease use of the product if you experience any. Store in a cool and dry place and consult the label for nutritional information if you suffer from any specific allergies. Also this supplement has been designed to act as a complement to a balanced diet and exercise and should not be used as a meal replacement supplement. This is especially pertinent to the topic of muscle gain because failure to attain the right energy intake whilst exercising regularly, can create minor complications to the immune system.

Good consistency and mixes well - a really good point of a powder like this as I hate when it gets lumpy
This powder mixes well and doesn't go lumpy
I do a lot of sport and due to an injury I have some issues with my knee. I like this one as it also has the glutamine in it so good for sport and my knee. I also like how it is quite easy to mix and the raspberry flavour is okay.
nice flavour and good quality powder - not lumpy or weird.
This is one of the best muscle powders I've used, and as a vegetarian it's really hard to find good ones
