Coconut sugar (also called coconut palm sugar) is a healthy sugar alternative that is made from the palm of the coconut (not to be confused with palm sugar which is made from a different type of palm tree). To make the sugar, the liquid sap is collected from the flower of the coconut palm and then heated and boiled down so that the water evaporates. This makes it a 100% natural sugar that does not contain any chemicals, flavourings or preservative as is made completely from the sap of the coconut flower.
